Votes and Accomplishments

When I take on a commitment – I take it seriously. One year into my first term I was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a double mastectomy and chemo. I am proud to say that during that time (other than the day of my surgery), I did not miss a single obligation - Council Meetings, Study Sessions, Budget Sessions or Work Sessions. All while raising kids and running a small business. If you return me to the Chandler City Council I will continue that level of commitment, continue to do the work, and continue listening to residents as I make decisions about the future of our community.

Reduce Primary Property Tax Rate

As home values rise, this helps reduce resident’s tax burden. Poston voted for this each year in office, including the most recent budget for the 26/27 fiscal year.

Housing- A real plan forward

Jane Poston led the implementation of an overarching Housing study, which is now part of the City’s upcoming 10-year General Plan. This study lets Chandler City Council’s decisions be led by resident and stakeholder input – so we really understand what is needed in our community.

Advanced Cancer Screenings for Chandler Firefighters

Firefighters are at an increased risk for cancer and early death due to nature of their job. Early identification is key to saving lives, and Jane Poston voted to fund these additional screenings, which have already identified 15 cancer cases and another 10 health issues that can now be treated early.

Police Staffing

I have advocated for increased police staffing, mental health resources and training. In January 2026, our Chandler Police Department is fully staffed for the first time in at least 5 years. Additionally, dispatchers are also nearly fully staffed, reducing overtime costs.

Public Safety- PSPRS

Chandler is the first city in Arizona to completely pay this debt off. I voted to put one-time funds toward this debt, reducing Chandler’s ongoing expenses, and positioning the City for its AAA Bond rating (which helps us reduce the interest paid for big infrastructure projects like water treatment, and sewer system repair).

Public Safety – Ambulance Service

This vote will save Chandler taxpayers money while providing treatment from our highly trained and professional Chandler Firefighters for implementation in January 2027. This is an Enterprise Fund (which means it must pay for itself through fees – not taxpayer dollars).

Business Friendly Government– Speed to Market

Outdated codes and processes cost businesses money. I’ve been a strong advocate for finding ways to streamline processes, and update city codes to help businesses move quickly. Speed to market is critical for helping Chandler businesses be successful.

Certified Autism Centers

I have supported expanding the city’s reach to serve all residents. The Community Services Parks & Recreation divisions and the Chandler Fire Department are both now certified autism centers

Libraries –Bookmobile

The mobile Discovery Library brings everything right to our residents. I was happy to vote in support of this library on wheels that brings books and more to people across the City.

Parks and Events

I voted in support of renovating the Downtown (AJ Chandler) park to make sure the rarely used space is activated. This exciting project has already garnered commitment from new businesses on the east side of Arizona Avenue.

Tumbleweed Park – Pickleball, Softball Fields & Multigenerational Center

This regional park has been active! And I was proud to open the 18 Pickleball Courts, the long-awaited Softball Fields and the Multigenerational Center, giving residents of all ages and interests access to activities they want.

Personal

I have been happily married for 26 years to my husband Jason. We own a small business in media and marketing and are proud parents to two CUSD grads. One son is studying finance at UofA, while the other recently graduated from ASU and has begun his professional career in NYC.
